 If
you want the absolute, top-of-the-line stability knee brace, the
new DonJoy eXtreme Knee Brace is exactly what you are looking for.
After having carefully inspected, worn, and tested this model, we
are convinced that this brace will spell the end of custom knee
braces for most people.
DonJoy created this brace with eXtreme athletes in mind: motocross
racers, skiers, and the like. However, any athlete who demands top
flight performance will appreciate the features of this brace. DonJoy
is the official brace supplier for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard teams:
they know what high level athletes want and have designed their
braces accordingly. Be sure to watch the U.S. athletes during the
2002 Olympics - you will see them wearing DonJoy braces.
The eXtreme was designed for mild to severe ACL, PCL, MCL, and
LCL instabilities for persons of all athletic skill levels - from
sedentary to professional athlete. It is recommended for all forms
of contact sports.

anti-migration supracondyle pad (note: not available
on Ski version). Prevents migration of the knee brace up/down
on the leg. Will keep your brace hinges right at the knee where
you need them.

What's
the difference between the standard and ski versions?
The ski version is specifically designed to fit any knee with
a ski boot on at the same time. The calf portion of the ski brace
is shorter than the standard to accomodate for this. That being
said, the standard version will also fit most people as well.
However, if you are shorter than 5'6", you may want to consider
the ski version. The ski version also has a medial hinge deflector,
which is useful for skiers who wear braces on both knees (eg.
US ski team mogul skiers, etc). The ski version does not have
the anti-migration pad described above. We currently do not stock
the ski version in our warehouse, but can get it for you special
order, at the same low price! Special orders are usually processed
within 1-2 days, and will arrive just about as fast as if they
came from our warehouse.
- Which
brace - ACL, PCL, or CI do you stock? We
currently stock the CI, or Combined-Instability brace - that means
that it is useful for both ACL and PCL instabilities
(in addition to MCL, LCL). We feel this will provide people the
absolute most support from their brace. If for some reason, you

want at no additional cost. Please note, that the pictures on
this site are of the ACL version - the CI version just has a couple
extra straps to provide added stability.

What is the difference between the eXtreme and Legend?
The Legend was DonJoy's
former top-of-the-line off the shelf knee brace. We
still carry it, because it's a great brace. However, the eXtreme
is even better. It is more rigid, and therefore, provides even
more support. The supracondylar ridge helps to keep it in position
better. It is designed specifically for skiers and motocross racers
- it comes in a ski version, and has a great optional anterior
shin/knee guard for motocross racers.
