Magnetic Therapy
Basically, no study has ever shown that magnets of the type that are now being placed into every imaginable brace/orthotic/support has any improved efficacy (effectiveness) over products without magnets.
More important than magnets, however, is the quality and structure of the brace/support/orthotic. This is perhaps the most important factor in whether that product will help you. Often, "magnetic" braces are made of inferior quality materials and therefore may not be as useful to your healing joint. All of our braces are produced by manufacturers who sell directly to the medical industry. Doctors prescribe the braces we carry — magnetic braces are sold to the public (we think it is more of a "gimmick" than anything else) — doctors rarely ever prescribe any magnetic product.
Finally (and to some, most importantly), magnetic braces are often significantly more expensive than a better made countpart.
The bottom line is that you may have a friend or relative who has benefited from a magnetic brace, but they did not get better because of the magnet; they got better because of the brace!
